Regarding eligibility to vote, and the electoral register, the same arrangements apply as in general elections, with the difference that electoral registers will be based on the records in the National Register three weeks prior to the referendum.
Constituency boundaries are the same as they were in the last general election. Absentee voting (postal voting) has already begun.
The question put on the ballot paper will be whether the act is to continue in force or to become void. The issue will be decided by a majority of valid votes cast. As is prescribed in the legislation on elections to the Althingi, blank papers will be regarded as spoiled.
